Belated new years greeting Louise to you and yours.. I was timid about lighting the fire first because it was too warm but more importantly because I thought the logs would not burn. How wrong I was. Eventually, on new years eve, I took a deep breath and lit the paper The result was beyond my wildest dreams. The new chimney drew very powerfully and the logs burned brightly and cheerfully.it was great and nothing left but a small amount of fine ash --very little mess. The unexpected thing for me was that as the fire place side boxes warmed up they threw out a lot of extra warmth and heat, So, I was well pleased with the whole pleasant result. I thought you would like to know.

The lock and door knobs arrived yesterday. The restorer has done a fantastic job on the lock and the keys. Please thank him from me. I'll get a locksmith to fit it - am taking no chances - and will try to remember to send you a picture of it in situ.
The cupboard door knobs are exactly right in every respect and match the existing ones perfectly. The fact that there is a slightly different design on the face is a positive advantage and a 'feature'.
I can't speak too highly of your service. Thanks again
